It was during a stay in Thailand that Alix Waline first experimented with in-situ drawing on a large scale. She appropriates the space to push back the limits. Collaborations with the Gilles & Boissier agency will follow for the Kinugawa restaurants, the Chess Hotel in Paris, and the Moncler boutique in Seoul, as well as projects for the Table and Akrame restaurants and numerous projects for individuals. Since then, she has produced the large wall drawing for the Diptyque boutique in Paris rue Saint Honoré. For Gilles & Boissier Privé, she creates unique lampshades. She also designed a very graphic wallpaper edited by Chiara Colombini and presented at Salone del Mobile. In January 2019, she released a collection of rugs and carpets published by Pinton. At the same time, she continues her drawing work on different media, represented among others by the Armel Soyer gallery.
Trained in Fine Arts and art history, Alix Waline composes black and white on large murals using Posca markers. Her work, she says, "is not that of color but of light". By her pointillist aesthetic, she gives body to movement, which is shown in the compositions presented here. They were created from March to May 2020, during the confinement in France. As Alix was not able to draw on the walls, she invested in large sheets of paper to draw her abstract landscapes - escape grounds during a period in which oneirism became necessary.
