Ifeanyi OGANWU is an artist architect designer, born in Nigeria. He studied architecture in Chicago (IIT), London (Architectural Association) and New York (Columbia). With a wealth of international experience, he has collaborated with the fashion design studio of Hussein Chalayan and worked in the offices of John Ronan, Zaha Hadid and the structural engineering firm of Adams Kara Taylor AKT II .
In 2008 he founded the London architecture and furniture design studio Expand Design Ltd, continually researching the correlation between history, base materials and the opportunities of new manufacturing techniques. In 2013, the Armel Soyer gallery dedicated a solo show Look Mums, with no Hands to her and presented her pieces at Design Miami/Basel and Design Shanghai in 2014.
In 2015, the Vitra Design Museum presented its Splice stool as part of the exhibition Making Africa, A Continent of Contemporary Design. Bulgy Inverted is exhibited as part of the exhibition "Pavillon de l'Esprit Nouveau: A 21st Century Show Home." curated by Félix Burrichter for the Swiss Institute in New York. That same year, he created Shwisty, a ping pong table commissioned for the Shenzhen Biennial for the Maker Maker exhibition.
