Patrick Fossey began by studying painting in the workshop of Yves Ramette and a few years later obtained his diploma in architecture at the Ecole Supérieure Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He learned sculpture in René Couturier's workshop and in Rafael Viard's workshop in Mexico.

Few years later, he taught Design and Urban Landscape to students at the University of Veracruz. Later, he directed the final exams of future graduates at the Escuela Superior de Diseño Gestalt in Jalapa.

He did not begin to exhibit his work until 1978, in a collective organized in Washington D.C. Two years later, he presented his first solo exhibition at the El Teatro de Córdoba gallery (in the state of Veracruz) with polychrome sculptures. It was not until 2008 that he returned to have a solo exhibition of his sculptures at the Agora Gallery in Jalapa.

In 2011, he exhibited his paintings for the first time in a solo show in Acapulco, and in 2015 in Donmarie Dontilly in the Ile de France.
