Perrine Rousseau

Perrine Rousseau is a French textile artist born in 1979. She lives and works in Paris.

Originally from central France, Perrine Rousseau came to study at the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1998, where she specialized in textile design and developed a passion for weaving, which would divert her from her first passion, painting. Perrine moved to Paris where she still lives.

During these years of study, Perrine Rousseau began to travel regularly to India with an ever-growing desire to discover the riches of this country brimming with artisanal knowledge and ancestral know-how. She travels to many other countries in Asia and Africa, where she spends time with artisans and initiates projects in collaboration with them.

In 2006, Perrine Rousseau created the House of Creation and Edition of Hand-Made Luxury Textiles "PERRINE", of which she still ensures the style today.

For a few years now, she has been developing a personal work of Textile Art, nourished by her encounters, fascinations and reflections around the artisanal gesture.

Wool, linen, vegetable fibers, copper and wood are Perrine Rousseau's favorite materials. She sees her work as a clinch with matter, a sensual and intuitive impulse that mixes matter with light in a movement that questions and pays homage to the intelligence of the hand.
